I have been programming for more than twenty years and still find it exciting. Besides the code itself, what gets me is understanding why we are building the thing at all. Who needs it, what should it make better, and how do we pull it off together as a team instead of everyone tinkering in their own corner. Questions like that interest me more than which framework is hot this year.

And I like explaining stuff. I have been teaching people to code since 2006, once as my main job, these days as a volunteer at Ideenwerkstatt Digital e.V., a non-profit I founded and still run. The moment someone's first line of code runs and their eyes light up never gets old.

Home is rural Lower Saxony, Germany, more dirt roads than fibre.
